Draft FAGs Review released

The Commonwealth Grants Commission has released its draft report on the review of the operations of the Local Government (Financial Assistance) Act. The draft report has been provided to State and Territory Governments, Local Government Grants Commissions, Local Government Associations and Councils.

The draft report sets out the Commission’s preliminary thoughts. The Commission is encouraging interested stakeholders to make their views known to the Commission on the draft report and the Commission will be accepting written submissions until 20 April 2001. The Commission will be holding a two day conference in Canberra on 29-30 March to discuss the draft report.

The draft report together with details on the review are available on the Commission’s website at www.cgc.gov.au.
