New property system part

The City of Charles Sturt has recently launched its new land and property information system, Proclaim One, making it the first Council in South Australia to ‘go live’ with the program. Proclaim One is a part of Technology One’s Local Government product suite and sits alongside Finance One and People One, which are both in operation currently at Charles Sturt.

Charles Sturt’s Information Systems Manager, Duncan Holt, said that the new program replaces a 15 year old AS/400 terminal based application and integrates with the ESRI GIS (Geographic Information System) mapping products and the Finance One application.

“Proclaim One brings with it major benefits to our staff, namely improved access to information, the ability to easily model data and, of course, ease of use,” Duncan Holt said. “Another major benefit for us is that our training needs are significantly reduced by using a Windows based product, along with our specialist support needs and costs.”

He said that one of the hurdles that stood in the way of Proclaim One was the specific legislative requirements of South Australia.

“We were really impressed that Technology One was able to successfully upgrade their product range to cater for these requirements,” he said. “But ultimately it was Technology One’s ability to offer us a fully integrated and supported product from one supplier that impressed us the most.”

Proclaim One, together with Finance One and People One provides a total, enterprise wide solution for Local Government organisations that is fully integrated, encompassing property and rating, receipting, debt management, regulatory management, payroll, human resource management and financial accounting to provide the Local Government organisation with complete control over its operations.

For further information contact Duncan Holt at the City of Charles Sturt on (08) 8408 1220.
