Years of hard work recognised

Last year’s Local Government acknowledgment of the City of Gosnells was the ultimate reward for years of strategic planning, community consultation, innovative management and above all, sheer hard work. The City received the 2004–2005 Western Australia Local Government Association Best Practice Award and the prestigious 2004–2005 Alcoa Leadership Award.

Over recent years, the City has also attracted national and international innovation awards for community safety urban design and smart growth in new suburbs.

City of Gosnells Mayor Patricia Morris AM JP, Freeman of the City, said the award was a terrific recognition of the hard work by the Councillors, CEO, Executive Team and all staff.

“It demonstrates the strong commitment we have to provide good customer service, to listen and respond proactively to the community and to ensure that our work practices are targeted towards cost effective and efficient service delivery,” Mayor Morris said.
