Libraries provide free magazine download service

Shoalhaven Libraries are providing patrons with a new digital download service providing members access to a wide array of magazines from anywhere in the world.

The new Zinio service will allow library members to download the latest edition of 24 popular magazine titles to their tablet, smartphone or computer by simply using their membership details.

Mayor Joanna Gash said the new download service would provide library members with 24 hour free access to a wide range of popular magazine titles including titles such as Vogue, Wellbeing, Popular Science, Yen and Waves.

“Council is extremely excited to provide the community with a new and innovative free magazine download service.

“This new program will allow library members the opportunity to download the latest magazines with no holds, no checkout periods and no limit to the amount of magazines that can be downloaded.

“With a wide variety of magazine titles available for download, this free service will allow library members to connect with their favourite magazines from anywhere in the world.

“This exciting new service compliments Shoalhaven City Council’s library’s existing Overdrive program, the popular ebook and audiobook download service.”
